RECOVERY CARE

About Our Recovery Care

Are you thinking about arranging care for yourself or a friend? After going through treatment for chemotherapy or an operation, you may find that tasks start to get more challenging due to a decrease in energy levels.

Prior to carrying out recovery care, we conduct an assessment where we find out about the client’s daily routine and medical history to determine how we can help each individual best. We then create a clear care plan that instructs us to deliver recovery care in the safest way possible. Our recovery care plans are tailored to individual needs, making sure each of our clients are as comfortable and safe as possible while our team delivers expert care.

TAILORED CARE

How We Help

Personal Hygiene

We understand some of the challenges of maturing – energy and mobility can make it difficult to shower and bathe without assistance, especially when recovering from an illness, injury or condition. Our carers are trained to promote dignity when providing personal recovery care. We can help with showering, bathing, bed baths, hair washing and changing continence pads.

Nutritional Help

When conducting the initial care assessment we can work with you to create a nutritious and delicious menu that caters to dietary requirements. Our carers can cook or can assist and help our clients with meals.

Medication Reminders

Our carers can prompt clients to take medication and can monitor sleep, mood, continence and more. This may not be necessary but help is always available from our diligent and experienced carers.

Household Help

Part of our recovery care plan includes domestic help such as cooking, cleaning, ironing and dusting. Our carers don’t just take over and do things in their way, they can help give back independence, tailoring your care to individuals.

Care App

Rivendell’s complimentary care app keeps you up to date with your loved ones’ care with updates for completed care visits, real-time care notes so you can check the quality of care and 24/7 communication with our team. If you need any help with setting up or using the app, please contact a member of our team who is happy to help.

Recovery Care FAQs

What is Recovery Care?

Recovery care is made for individuals who have recently suffered from an injury or recovering from surgery. Injuries can affect mobility and energy levels, meaning it is more difficult to complete daily tasks such as making food and cleaning. Depending on the care requirements, a carer can either provide round the clock care or can provide care visits at times in the day when it might be more challenging such as getting washed and ready for the day or at mealtimes.

What Does a Recovery Care Plan Include?

A recovery care plan can be tailored to the needs of the individual to ensure they are as comfortable as possible while completing daily activities. This can include personal hygiene help, support with light exercise (provided by a physiotherapist), medication reminders and creating and sticking to a nutritional plan.
