Our Overnight Care at Home Services
If you are looking for an overnight carer, there are three main types of service we offer. While these are the main services, don’t hesitate to contact us with your needs; our overnight carers are eager to adapt and listen.
SLEEPING OVERNIGHT CARE
This service provides you or your loved one with a carer who sleeps overnight in your home. The carer is available at all times to fulfil any of your night-time needs that relate to your security and safety.
This service is best suited for those who feel uncomfortable or need a little bit of support intermittently during the evening. If you feel you need help multiple times during the night, you may need our waking night care service.
WAKING OVERNIGHT CARE
The waking service involves one or multiple trained carers who attend to several of your needs while you sleep. Throughout the night, these carers stay awake, monitor you and undergo domestic responsibilities, giving you and your family peace of mind.
They also help attend to medical-related matters such as administering medication, changing your position to avoid bed sores, injuries and certain conditions.
RESPITE CARE/SITTING SERVICE OVERNIGHT CARE
Give your regular caregiver a break by letting our trained night-time carer take over.
This allows family members to rest and is the perfect combination if you already have a preferred daytime carer in place.
Why Choose Our Overnight Care Service?
Here are just a few reasons to choose our overnight care services:
GOING THE EXTRA MILE
Our compassionate carers go the extra mile to ensure that you’re comfortable and supported within your home.
We’re on standby to support you through the small tasks up to full-time care throughout the night-time, tailored to your needs.
Each night time carer can help you with medication management, personal care, nightly tasks, toileting care, assistance, palliative care, clinical care, help with progressive conditions like Alzheimer’s and dementia, stoma care and more.
If it’s emotional support you need, following a grievance, illness or personal battles, our carers will be there for you. They handle everything with utmost emotional sensitivity and have extensive hands-on experience.
ENQUIRE ABOUT OUR OVERNIGHT CARE SERVICE
No matter what age you reach, your independence and wellbeing should always be your top priority. However, we understand this can become challenging when additional household tasks, personal care and management, can accumulate, causing unhealthy sleep and increasing your risk of cognitive decline. At Rivendell we remove this risk by supplying experienced and empathetic night sitters for the elderly and people in need, across London, often within 48 hours of enquiring.
Overnight Care FAQs
What is Overnight Care?
Overnight care involves a dedicated carer staying overnight at a clients home between the hours of 10pm and 7am. They offer support with a number of tasks including personal care, medication reminders and companionship.
What Does an Overnight Carer do?
There are two options for overnight care, sleeping night and waking night care. A sleeping night carer provides the security of having a carer in the property from 10pm – 7am. The carer can be woken up to two times a night for short periods. For example, to help with toileting or getting a drink. Please note, the carer will need to be provided with a bed. A waking night carer is ‘on call’ from 10pm – 7am and is able to assist throughout this period. Often a waking night carer can help with clients that require turning to prevent pressure sores, be with a client that does not sleep or needs medication at night.
What Happens if I Want to Start My Overnight Care Earlier or Finish Later?
We are able to add additional hours to the visit, tailoring it to each individual. As an example, a client may require the carer to attend at 9pm if they go to bed earlier. Any additional time is charged hourly.
